半年ほどほったらかしておいたら大量のスパムコメントが承認待ちになっていた。英仏伊露西日と言葉も様々。片言のバイアグラ屋さんと聞かれても困る質問があった。太字はリンクになっていた箇所。

An example of tasseling by squares. Original image is composed of 300 x 400 = 120,000 pixels and replaced with square-shaped areas. The dimensions of squares correspond to the area in which the pixels have similar colors. Processed by short php script using GD library.

はてブ・digg・deliciousトップページ三態/Front pages of Hatena Bookmark, digg and delicious

前エントリーで紹介したものと同じようなことを digg.com と delicious.com でやってみた。delicious.com は「はてブ」と同じソーシャルブックマーク、digg は social news だが似たような性格のものと思って比較。

三者三様だったが、この三者のうちでは「はてブ」のトップページが異質だった。以下にそれぞれのダイアグラムを掲載する。丸い図は24時間にトップページに掲載された各エントリーの順位の軌跡を示したもので、中心が第一位、最外周が第30位である。着色した線で当日の新エントリーの順位の軌跡を示しており、グレーの線は前日から継承したエントリーを示す。一周24時間。

データはいずれも2009年6月7日（digg と delicious はアメリカ東部標準時）。

1. はてなブックマーク

「はてブ」は下位からホットエントリーに昇格し、人気のあるエントリーはトップページに留まり続ける。過去のエントリーがリバイバルすることも多いが、だいたい徐々にブックマークを稼ぎながら順位を上げることになるため、ブックマーク数をZ軸にとって水平にみると下のような円錐状のシルエットになり、螺旋状に上昇するものが典型的である。そして順位の変動はかなり激しい。

2. digg.com

対して digg は upcoming から popular へ昇格したエントリーは必ず先頭に掲載され、時間とともにこれが順繰りに押し出される形式になっている。多少乱れはあるものの基本的に掲載順の時間ファクターが支配しており、いかに digg されようと順位は下がり続ける。そして昇格してくるエントリーの数が多く流れが速い。

したがって digg 数をZ軸にして水平に見るとラッパ状に散ってゆく軌跡を描く（角度が急なものほど急速に digg されている）。

3. delicious.com

そして delicious のトップページはさらにドライで、新たな人気エントリーを一定時間ごとに頭から流しているのみである。digg のように途中で降格するすることもなければ「はてブ」のような下剋上もない。delicious ではブックマーク数の情報が簡単に得られなかったので横から見た図はないが、おそらく digg をなだらかにしたような軌跡を描いているはずである。

「はてブ」と digg のトップページ（および各カテゴリー）を時々眺めていると「はてブ」より digg の方が流れが早いという印象があったが、どうやらリストの流れる仕組みが全然違うようだ。

蛇足ながら個人的な見解を書くと、トップページにエントリーが何日も居座り続ける「はてブ」は（いかに議論が盛り上ったとしても）情報源としてはあまり優れたものではない。digg のようにどんどん流れる方が快適であるし、特定の議論がトップページに粘着する構造は傍観者からするとやや目障り。俎上に上るエントリーの絶対数やユーザー数に差があるので、単純な比較はできないかも知れないが。
